Website operation

Systems delivering the site process technical connection data such as your IP address, time, requested address and browser information. This is necessary to operate and protect the website (Art. 6(1)(f) GDPR). Heraldio runs on a Hetzner server, with Cloudflare configured as a network service in front of it. Which provider receives a request depends on delivery and caching. Provider logs and their retention depend on the respective operational settings.

Sessions and security

Laravel uses a session to support sign-in and secure form handling. The required session cookie and CSRF protection help secure sign-ins and form actions. A separate cookie may store your language preference. Exact cookie settings depend on the server configuration.

Accounts and private areas

When you use an account, we process the details, sign-in data and changes needed to provide your account and requested features. Protected Inertia and operator responses are treated as private and are not eligible for browser analytics. Retention depends on the purpose, legal requirements and account use.

Location and private files

Your precise device location is read only after you actively allow location access in your browser. For a search, the coordinates are held in the geo cache for up to 20 minutes and tied to your session. Place names you enter for suggestions are sent by Heraldio to the configured geocoding service. A requested route may send start and destination coordinates to the configured routing service. Location is not placed in shareable links or public profiles. Images uploaded for protected workflows are converted to WebP, stored privately and tied to an account. Temporary uploads expire after 24 hours.

Privacy choice and optional services

Your choice is stored for 180 days in local browser storage under heraldio.consent.v1. Optional access to your device requires consent under section 25(1) TDDDG; personal data processing relies on your consent under Art. 6(1)(a) GDPR. Access that is strictly necessary is governed by section 25(2) TDDDG. You can allow optional services individually, reject them or change your choice later. Rejection does not limit search or account use. Do Not Track and Global Privacy Control prevent optional services from starting. Withdrawal stops future use where possible and removes service-related browser storage accessible to this site. It does not erase data already held by a provider, and Heraldio cannot remove cookies set by other domains. Consent applies only going forward.

Your rights

Subject to legal requirements, you may request access, correction, erasure, restriction and data portability, and object to processing. You may withdraw consent at any time for the future. You may also complain to a data protection authority. Contact [email protected].

Heraldio unterdrückt zusätzlich den gesamten Dokumentinhalt und sendet keine Nutzerattribute, benutzerdefinierten Ereignisse oder SPA-URLs. Konten, Organisatoren, LARP und Betreiberbereiche sind ausgeschlossen. Seiten mit Query- oder Hash-Teil werden nie getrackt. Die konkrete Aufbewahrung hängt vom Hotjar-Tarif ab.
